About

The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Field Day exercise will be held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum on the fourth weekend of June. Local Amateur Radio operators will join the Ventura County Amateur Radio Society (VCARS) and the Simi Settlers Amateur Radio Club (SSARC) to operate under the call-sign of “N6R”. The exercise will last for 24 hours from 11 AM on June 24th to 11 AM on June 25th, promoting public awareness and providing training for Amateur Radio operators while establishing communications with thousands of groups and individuals under simulated emergency conditions. Participants will be fully vaccinated and will follow COVID-19 guidelines to ensure safety.

American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Field Day: This Amateur Radio Emergency Communications exercise has been held on the grounds of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum for the past several years on the fourth full weekend of June.

For the event, the Ventura County Amateur Radio Society (VCARS) will be joined by the Simi Settlers Amateur Radio Club (SSARC) and other local Amateur Radio operators ("Hams"), all operating under the Special Events call-sign of ”N6R" (honoring former President and Mrs. Reagan). The annual 24-hour Field Day exercise (starting at 11 AM on Saturday, June 24th), promotes public awareness and provides training experience for local Amateur Radio operators. By its conclusion (at 11 AM on Sunday, June 25th), event participants at the Library will have established Amateur Radio Communications with thousands of other clubs, groups, and individuals throughout North America and adjoining countries, most of whom were also operating under simulated emergency conditions.

In light of the continuing COVID-19 related challenges, event participants will all be fully vaccinated, and will be following CDC, state, and local Health Care guidelines to protect the participants, their families, and all those who choose to come to the beautiful grounds of the Reagan Presidential Library.
